Thank you for viewing my blog, my name is Tien Nguyen, and I am a true believer in a sustainable future. I will utilize this blog platform to share you my vision of a sustainable fish farm that will run on 100% renewable energy, and one that employs people with disability alongside with able-bodied people. This blog will have a content around fish/ fishing, travel stories, interviews, and my volunteer opportunities.
Who is Tien and what is his vision?
To fully describe myself in a few paragraphs would be super difficult, but I will try my best to tell you who I am. To gain insight about yourself you should ask for your friends' opinion. Knowing this, I asked my friends to describe me and the three common responses have been: driven, visionary ,and optimistic. Although I don't always agree with my friends' responses, I do find it truthful that I am driven and optimistic about my future.Furthermore, I also identify as an immigrant from Vietnam who has overcame adversity. Maybe my background as an immigrant was the ultimate factor in making who I am today. Enough with talking about my past, lets talk about the present. As of right now, I have traveled to 7 countries in the span of my college career. (Haiti, Ecuador, Peru, Vietnam, Fiji, Panama, and Puerto Rico) Most of the countries, I've been to were for volunteering or personal pleasure. My travel experiences have taught me a lot about myself and my passions. My top passions would be fishing, traveling, reading, and solving problems.

Currently, I am a Florida Gator at the University of Florida with a Business Administration major specializing in Agribusiness with a minor in Disability in Society. I chose to study these areas because I find them to be practical for what I am pursuing. I cannot see myself working for anyone in the long run; therefore, I am passionate about starting a sustainable fish farm business after college. I would like to change the way we harvest fish as a food source and the stigma about people with any sort of disability. Ultimately, I want to grow grouper and snapper indoor using solar and wind energy to feed the demand of 10 billion people by 2050. On top of that, my business would not be "business as usual" where profit is everything; my desire is to change that attitude with an inclusive working culture. A culture that embrace everyone's ability regardless if he or she is abled bodied or disabled.
